Djinny does not have its own account system and keeps nothing about you on a server. There is no Djinny username or password to delete. The only account involved is your own Google Account, used through Google Play Games Services if you choose to sign in.
If you signed in with Google Play Games
Signing in shares your Play Games player ID, display name, and profile icon with the app, used to show your name and avatar. If you sign in, the app also sends the following to Google Play Games Services: your leaderboard scores, the achievements you have unlocked, and an encrypted cloud save of your game progress. All of this is Google's data, held under your Google Account, not on any server of ours.
To delete it, use Google's own Play Games deletion tools. Deleting your Djinny game data there removes your leaderboard scores, your achievements and your cloud save for Djinny:
- On the web: go to play.google.com/games/profile, then Your Data, then Delete Play Games Account and Data. You can delete just Djinny's game data, or your entire Play Games profile.
- On Android: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Settings, General, Play Games Profile and Privacy and settings. Under Your Data, tap Delete profile and game data, then choose Djinny under Delete individual game data, or delete your whole profile.
Full instructions are on Google's own support page: Delete your Play Games data or Play Games profile.
If you delete your Djinny data from Play Games but keep the app installed, the progress on your device is not affected, and the next time you sign in the app will save your progress to the cloud again. To stop that, uninstall the app, or play as a guest by signing out of Play Games in the app.
Crash reports and analytics
Djinny uses Google Firebase to receive crash reports and basic usage statistics. They are tied to a random installation identifier, not to your name, Google Account or Play Games profile, so we cannot tell which reports are yours and cannot look up or delete one person’s reports. Google removes them automatically after its standard retention period, and uninstalling the app stops any more being sent. Deleting your Play Games data does not remove them, because Google’s tools only cover what is held in your Play Games profile.
Data stored on your device
Outside of your Google Account data described above, Djinny stores a small amount of data locally on your device only: your settings (such as music and quiz preferences), your game progress (experience points, streaks, trophies, daily quests and category mastery), and your quiz history with the answers you gave. The app does not send this anywhere except for the cloud save described above, and all of it is removed from your device when you uninstall the app. There is no separate request or retention period needed for this, uninstalling deletes it right away.
Android backup
If Google backup is turned on for your device, Android may also keep a copy of the app's data in your Google Account backup, and restore it when you reinstall. To remove it, open your device's Settings, go to Google, then Backup, and delete the backup or turn backup off. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete a backup that Google already holds.
